This is Horton Smith’s Golf Medal for winning the 1931 St Paul Open. This was Horton’s 15th PGA Tour victory. I’m amazed to own one of Horton’s PGA Tour winning gold medals.
This is Horton Smith’s gold medal for winning the Challenge Medal from his home course in Springfield Mo. This was a very early medal and is quite possibly his first golf award? He was given this award when he was 15 years old.
This is Jock Hutchison’s gold medal for winning the 1921 North South Open played at Pinehurst. This was an important tournament back then. I loaned this medal to the World Golf Hall of Fame in Pinehurst and is on display there right now.
This is an interesting gold USGA medal given to Richard Chapman. This medal with given to him for playing in the 1959 US Open? But why? He didn’t win it or was the low amateur he was 5th amateur scorer. Dick Chapman won the US and British Amateurs and he was a member of WInged Foot and he was his US Amateur at Winged Foot. I guess this close association with Winged Foot was the reason?
This is a beautiful gold medal given to Phil Farley for being the Low amateur in the 1931 Candian Open. Walter Hagan was the professional winner of the 1931 Candian Open. His medal sold for 20k.

Billy Casper’s golf medal for winning the 1967 Carling World Open I read Billy Casper’s book and he mentioned winning this tournament and he said it was a very large purse and he would win 40K if he won and he had a 4 foot putt to win. All he could think about is he would make 10k per foot, He made the putt.
This is Francis Ouimet’s gold medal for winning a tournament at Yahnudasis Golf Club.
This is a wonderful trophy. It is rather large and it’s silver. This is Ted Ray’s trophy for winning the 1922 Hertfordshire Open Championship. Ted Ray is a very famous golf and he won the 1920 US Open and the 1912 Open Championship

This is a Belt Buckle given to Horton Smith to commemorate his Hole in One, at his home club the Detroit Golf Club in 1954.
This is a small Gold pocket knife given to Bobby Walker from Horton Smith in 1938. Interesting item and I don’t know who Bobby Walker is.
